Bad Plastic Surgery Results

by Clare Eisenman

We usually see bad plastic surgery only when the media publish pictures of celebrities that had some kind of cosmetic surgery. One would mean that these celebs would have the money and the right advisers to pick the best possible surgery but when you look at the results sometimes it is amazing what you see. It just looks not natural.

Another example of bad plastic surgery can happen when something goes wrong during the surgery. There are always risks and complications with any surgery and nobody, even the most experienced surgeon, is immune against failure. Sometimes things go wrong, even if everything was taken in consideration and the preparation was perfect. Talk about bad luck.

Cosmetic surgery can’t solve all problems. Sometimes people expect too much and urge the surgeon to do things that are near to impossible to do. Finally though, it is on the surgeon to decide what is possible and not. If a young woman wants huge breast implants he could send her away but the truth is, that the woman will most likely find a surgeon who will do the surgery. It is the same with a woman who is asking for her fifth face lift. There is no way this looks natural but one will do it.

If people can easily see that someone had a cosmetic surgery then it is bad plastic surgery, no matter how well the surgery was done from a medical point of view. If the surgery looks unnatural then it was a failure. The goal of an aesthetic improvement of the look was missed.

There is a reason why cosmetic surgery costs that much. An excellent surgeon is also like an artist. He must know what results a cut here and an incision there has on the overall appearance of the patient. Making a perfect cut is not enough. He must have experience from many previous surgeries in order to know what looks good and what not.

The media is full of pictures of failed cosmetic surgeries. Often the results are irreversible. Maybe the surgeon just had a bad day, maybe unexpected side effects ruined a good work. Fact is that you probably risk a lot when you try to save a few Dollars by choosing a cheap surgeon.

The fact that the surgery is not made for any medical reason but just for achieving cosmetic changes doesn’t mean there is less risk. Every surgery could cause a nerve damage for example. This can mean a big decrease in life quality, especially if sensitive areas like the face, eyes, lips or the breasts are affected.

An infection is another big risk in any surgery. An infection can ruin the best plastic surgery. The more blood you lose the bigger the risk. A traditional extensive liposuction where you could loose a lot of blood has this risk.

Skin problem are another major problem. Every surgery leaves scars behind but there could be more if you have bad luck. There can be a decrease of sensation, asymmetry or numbness. The older the skin the higher the risks for skin problems that stay.

To reduce the chances to become a victim of bad plastic surgery you should reduce two main risk factor, one is the surgeon and the other the patient. The patient usually wants and expects too much. Inform yourself what is possible and what remains a dream. Then choose the best surgeon you can find for money. If you save here then you risk your health.

Alternatives To Face Lifts

by Clinton Gregerson

If you are over 40, have fine lines, a few wrinkles and some skin discoloration, a full facelift surgery might be overkill. A laser facelift can make fine lines disappear, take away skin discoloration on the skin’s surface and minimize wrinkles.

A laser facelift is actually laser resurfacing. When you have laser resurfacing done, you are having layers of your skin removed with carbon dioxide. This can be done over the entire surface of your face and/or concentrated in the areas that trouble you the most. This is usually around the eyes and mouth. This treatment won’t even take an hour to complete. While it resembles a chemical peel, it does not take as much time in the chair, it can be applied more strongly to specific areas and there aren’t as many risks involved. Your skin will also heal faster with laser resurfacing than it would with a chemical peel.

Even though it is popularly called laser “facelift”, it does not really lift your face. The lift that you get from resurfacing is in the healthy, new skin that is revealed after treatment. Fine lines disappear and wrinkles are much less noticeable.

Keep These Thoughts in Mind:

Laser resurfacing is not for people with dark skin and is not recommended for those with oily or problem skin.

This does not take away wrinkles, lift sagging skin or correct areas of fat deposits under the skin.

Your skin will be tender and you will have some redness for a while.

If done improperly, there can be adverse effects such as permanent skin damage.

There is another kind of laser treatment that does not resurface, but instead tightens the skin by heating up the collagen underneath, making it a “pseudo-facelift”. This type of lift has no recovery time - you can go on with your day after having it done.

Both types of laser facelifts can be used along with a conventional lift - the skin is lifted with surgery, the laser resurfacing minimizes wrinkles, and the skin is tightened by heating collagen.

Help! I Need A Cellulite Solution Now

by Gal Bishop

If you’d like to discover a surefire cellulite solution, you’re hardly alone. Swimsuit season is upon us and a lot of women find themselves wishing for a way to get rid of cellulite, an unsightly problem all too many women struggle with.

You may think that the only way to get rid of cellulite lumps and bumps is to undergo expensive and potentially hazardous surgery. Liposuction is a popular option for removing cellulite, but it is risky and offers no guarantee that the cellulite won’t come back. And, some experts warn that liposuction doesn’t work anyway.

So what can you do to become cellulite free? There are some alternative treatments worth exploring which do not carry the same risks of surgery. Let’s discuss a few of them…

A popular alternative treatment is known as mesotherapy, a technique that is over fifty years old. Developed by Dr. Pistor of France in 1952, it’s an extremely popular treatment option in Europe. This procedure requires that you have injections made up of vitamins, minerals and amino acids at the point where your cellulite is located. Injections are usually given weekly for several months.

While many report success with this alternative, it does take a long time and can be quite expensive. Doctors certified to administer mesotherapy are also difficult to find in many areas. The expense and the fact that it involves injections prevents many people from choosing this option as a first resort.

Body wraps are another alternative many women turn to. But, their effectiveness as a remedy for cellulite is still in question. They are based on the premise that toxins in the body play a major role in cellulite formation.

Those who favor body wraps believe they encourage toxin removal from your body to improve body contour and decrease water retention for a smoother, more attractive appearance. Body wraps are intended to stimulate skin cells and produce healthier looking skin. Although results are not guaranteed, it won’t hurt to give this option a try; worst case is you’ll get to enjoy a bit of rest and relaxation at the spa.

Of course, exercise and diet can go a long way towards reducing cellulite in those who are carrying a few extra pounds or have a lack of muscle tone. Not everybody loves exercise and diet restrictions, but this is an option which works well when practiced regularly. Simple steps like walking and biking can get you started and the change will astound you.

It can be difficult to make changes to your lifestyle, but it will become routine over time. You can do it by taking small steps like drinking water instead of soda, working more healthy veggies into your diet and walking whenever possible. Every little bit helps. You’ll get more energy, feel less stressed and sleep better too - certainly a nice bonus along with reducing cellulite.

Before you decide on a cellulite solution, look into the various treatments available and choose carefully. Sometimes, the best solution is the simplest one.

Laser Eye Surgery And It’s Costs

by Jonas Laquil

With the continuous development of technology our lives keep getting easier. Technology is not only providing us with new electronic appliances, it is also providing new technologies to help with medical breakthroughs. Thanks to this many, many people have now been able to stop wearing glasses or contact lenses after having laser eye surgery performed.

But of course laser eye surgery doesn’t come cheap and sadly because of this it is not yet at the reach of everyone.

So here’s some advice and guidelines that may help you afford the costs of your laser eye surgery operation.

How To Afford It

Pretty much all of the health insurance companies will not cover you for this operation. However if you consult with your doctor, you may be able to get the operation done with finance.

Many surgeons are now working side by side with finance companies in order to make it possible for the average person to have laser eye surgery done.

Many of the finance companies will give you a whole host of different options and plans that you can choose from, so you should be able to find one that best fits your financial situation.

Applying for your financing

You may need to visit the financial company in person to fill out forms if you have not obtained any application forms from your doctor or through their websites.

Also, be sure to have all the necessary information that you may need because they will surely do a general background check which includes household income, home phone and address, social security number, and the likes.

Other medical information should not be needed, but they will of course want to know who will be performing your operation.

So finance could be an option for you if you can’t afford your operation out right. Of course if you are already financially tight and already have loans and debts to worry about, it probably is not the best time for you to undergo this operation.

Learning About Nashville Breast Augmentation

by Andrew W John

Women have breast augmentation for a variety of reasons. Some women are looking for a sense of self confidence that they may not have had previously, and others are simply looking for ways to make themselves look better and to be more attractive. Whether you want to look better when you leave the house in the morning, or perhaps you have been the victim of breast cancer and want to restore the breasts you had before cancer caused you to have a mastectomy, having breast implants otherwise known as breast augmentation, it will help you to feel better about yourself.

Unfortunately not all women are born with the perfect breasts. Many women are even born with different sized breasts which can make them uneasy about certain types of clothes they wear. It is a common fact that women tend to have one breast that is larger than the other, but in some cases, the difference is quite noticeable. It isn’t always about making a woman’s breast larger; sometimes it is just about making them more proportioned in order to feel less conspicuous in clothing and when naked.

To help you decide if breast augmentation is for you, you should plan to have a consultation with a medical professional that specializes in breast augmentation before you make a final decision. The doctor will discuss the entire procedure, and will walk you through the surgery as well as the after care. They will also talk to you about why you want to have the surgery. There are many risks associated with the procedure and to fully understand what will take place, a consultation is essential so that you are comfortable with what will happen both in the surgery and to your body after.

During the consultation it is also important that you talk to your doctor about your feelings about the surgery. Some women go in to this thinking that their lives will be drastically changed, and they may even have certain expectations. By being honest and forthright about your feelings, you can often talk about those expectations to make sure that they are as reasonable as they can be.

The next question you want to consider is if you are doing this for yourself or to please someone else. It may sound like a dumb question but there are many women who do this to please their boyfriends or their husbands. It is not them who will live with this change in your life, it is you. It is your body, and before you make your final decision, make sure you are doing it for the right reasons.

Before you are able to have your breast augmentation your doctor will also go over your history in regards to your healthy. Not only must your breasts be fully developed, you must be in good health and able to withstand such an operation such as breast augmentation. Many medical practices require that you are of a certain age to make sure you are done growing so you should be aware of that before you begin planning for surgery. They also want to discuss what you want to get out of the surgery, especially if you are a younger patient.

When you are sitting in the consultation with your doctor, this is not the time to be dishonest in any way, no matter how much you want the procedure done. The doctor is there to help you and to show you the process. You need to be honest about why you are doing it, what you expect to gain from it and the reasons that you feel that you are a candidate for the breast augmentation.

After you discuss the reasons behind the surgery, it is time to start discussing any pre-existing conditions that may exclude you from the surgery. Your doctor will ask about any history of breast cancer, both for you or your family, as well as any medical conditions you may have now. You should be truthful about the medication you are taking, whether it is over the counter or prescription drugs. No matter how small it may seem to you, it is important for your doctor to know everything that is going on with you, as it can affect the procedure itself.

Now that your doctor has discussed all of your feelings and the facts about the surgery, together you can make a more informed decision about what you are planning on doing. This is the time to get it all out in the open so that when you leave the office, you know if breast augmentation is right for you.

Laser Hair Removal

by Luke Skywalker

For years men and women have had issues with unwanted hair. The traditional methods are often painful, take forever, and are usually quite temporary.

One other option out there is electrolysis. This can work, but has some huge downsides. It takes hours of treatments to get a good result. Also, you can’t treat a large area, it just takes too long.

Laser hair removal might be the best answer. Small areas can be treated in less than ten minutes. Although multiple treatments are used to achieve the best results, they are quick and convenient.

The two major fears in laser surgery are burning and skin color changes. When these problems have happened, it has almost always been an unqualified laser operator making mistakes.

Try to find an experienced doctor. This will virtually eliminate all of these risks. Don’t fall for the discount hair removal deals. Check out your doctor, and things will work out.

Laser hair removal is very efficient. Large areas can be treated in one session. You can get any body part done in less than sixty minutes.

With laser treatments you will have permanent reduction of hair, and you skin will feel smooth and soft. Over time there may be a need for touch up sessions, maybe once or twice a year. Most clients have long lasting, and very satisfying results.

Laser hair removal works best for light skin dark hair clients. This is due to the fact that the laser is attracted to the melanin in the hair follicles. Recent advancements in the field have improved the results for all patients.

One new laser uses a pulse light technique. There are two benefits of this improved laser. Not only does it help remove hair for more types of skin and hair color combinations, it is also safer for the skin overall.

Laser hair removal can be very effective in removing in grown hairs. The laser sees the follicles anyway and easily treats them. There is no need to actually touch the hair as in other treatments.

Laser hair removal is now widely used. Quick effective sessions are very rewarding for patients. If you are considering hair removal, check out your laser options.

Simple and Effective Natural Treatments For Eczema

by Niaomi Masters

Approximately 15% of the world’s children have some form of eczema, and while about half of them will have their symptoms disappear as they grow older, the other half will have symptoms throughout their lives. Eczema is a challenging condition, as the exact causes are not known, and effective cures are not available for everyone through conventional medicine. There does appear to be a strong link between environmental allergens or toxins and outbreaks, and it seems one may be genetically predisposed. Many folks have found great relief for themselves and/or their children with natural therapeutics, through natural cleansing, immune support, proper hydration and diet, aand with the topical application of natural anti-inflammates found in essential oils. By combining both internal and external holistic healing modalities, one can create optimal conditions for relief from eczema symptoms.

Many people have had great success with using therapeutic essential oil blends topically; essential oils and accompanying carrier oils can be exceptionally healing to a great variety of skin ailments, eczema included. Oils can provide short-term relief for many, though healing chronic conditions will likely require addressing the toxins in one’s environment, modifying lifestyle choices, and employing the cleansing practices of natural medicine. Here we’ll have a look at topical essential oil formulas from the medical aromatherapy literature, and review effective suggestions for internal and holistic natural treatments.

Essential oils have profound healing effects when the right oils are selected and properly applied. The blends for eczema are simple, and can provide nearly immediate relief of symptoms. For dry eczema, use this recipe to make one ounce of your formula: 20 drops of Lavender essential oil, 20 drops of Palmarosa essential oil, one-quarter ounce of Tamanu oil and three-quarters of an ounce of Rosehip seed oil. For children under five, use only one drop of each essential oil per year of age, if over five use two drops. Lavender is a wonderful oil for the relief of itching, and is even prescribed ‘neat’ (undiluted) for simple relief of itchy skin. It has a gentle, soothing effect, with anti-inflammatory and regenerative actions. Palmarosa is a pleasant smelling yet potent anti-microbial and anti-viral essential oil often used in skin care. Tamanu oil is a tropical nut oil highly regarded for its ability to calm and regenerate the skin, and Rosehip seed has been extensively studied for its healing and regenerative properties. This is a powerful yet gentle therapeutic blend that can be applied three to four times daily to relieve itchiness and stimulate skin regeneration.

For weeping eczema, the therapeutic blend is modified to use Thyme essential oil, thujanol chemotype (note that there are several types of Thyme available), and Eucalyptus citradora, otherwise known as Lemon Eucalyptus. This is a more potent anti-infectious blend of essential oils, still in the soothing base oils of Tamanu and Rosehip. Again use 20 drops of each essential oil in each one-quarter ounce of Tamanu and three-quarter ounce of Rosehip seed. Again, the concentration should be reduced for young ones.

For long-term relief, finding the true cause of the eczema is important. For many, it can be toxins in their environment they are continually exposed to. One mother reported success in healing the eczema of her seven month old by switching from chlorinated and fluoridated city tap water to distilled water. Another person whom visited a naturopath began filtering the chlorine from her water, and followed the ‘Eat Right For Your Blood Type’ diet (which among other things improves the immune response and lessens inflammation), again with much success. In general, natural health professionals advise the importance of reducing stress levels, improving the body’s acid/alkaline balance, supporting the immune system, decreasing the inflammatory response, and cleansing the liver, kidneys and colon.

It sounds like a lot, but many practices will promote more than one aspect of health. Cleaning up the diet, reducing processed foods and increasing intake of fresh organic vegetables will go a long way. Vegetable juice, when squeezed at home or at the juice bar (rather than bottled or canned varieties) moves the pH to a more alkaline level, and helps cleanse the system. Just drinking the juice of a single lemon in a glass of warm water first thing each morning will alkalize the blood and support the liver in toxin removal. Cleansing may be crucial to eczema sufferers, as the health of the skin is considered an indicator of the body’s toxicity level. Clear skin means a clear liver; allergic skin reaction can mean the internal organs of elimination are overloaded, and response of eczema is really the toxicity ’spilling over’ to the skin. If you feel your body is in need of a real cleanse, seek the support and advice of a knowledgeable natural health practitioner to learn the most healthful and effective means to do this for yourself.

A great many additional changes and supplements can be helpful for eczema relief. The key to incorporating these into one’s lifestyle is to NOT attempt them all at once — rather, try adding one or two at a time, getting them to be ‘habits’ over the course of a couple of weeks. Items and practices to investigate: Pro-biotic supplements, i.e. Supplements encouraging the proliferation of healthy bacteria in the intestines. You may be familiar with Acidophilus, though even better are supplements that offer several strains of healthy bacteria in one capsule. These have shown to improve conditions of eczema in many people. Next, some sort of regular exercise is highly valuable, both in reducing stress and increasing overall vitality. This will support all the internal organs and the skin. Adding omega-3 fatty acid supplements may also be of significant importance — most folks in Western countries are deficient in these particular essential fats — essential fats which improve immune response, decrease inflammation and improve one’s overall sense of wellbeing. Try hemp seed, flaxseed or distilled fish oil in a bottle (rather than capsules) and consume 1-2 tablespoons daily. And last but certainly not least, try consciously increasing the amount of filtered, distilled or spring water you’re intaking daily; most people are chronically dehydrated, and those with eczema are exhibiting more profound symptoms of their lack of this all-important cleansing and hydrating nutrient.

Anti aging skin care guide

by Giselda Marcua

The anti aging skin care guide in general comes from a cosmetic company. People are inclined to think that they are honest and they are likely to believe in their anti aging skin care treatment, but the companies are mainly interested in selling their product.

The best anti aging skin care guide that I have ever read was designed by a dermatologist. I’ll briefly cover the highlights here, since the original can be difficult to read.

The recommendations he made were not in “laymen’s terms”, but the anti aging skin care treatment he suggested had a lot of common sense. Contrary to most of the things that you see on TV, the guide mainly focuses on taking care of the skin’s health, consequently preventing many problems and improving the appearance.

When a dermatologist writes an anti aging skin care guide, it’s a very rare event but it should be the norm because it makes total sense. Dermatologist in general do not believe in the efficacy of a topically applied anti aging skin care treatment. They as much as doctors are inclined to focus on drugs, injections and other more mainstream medical ideas instead of natural solutions.

Albert Kligman, a medical doctor and dermatologist, believes that by taking care of the outermost of the skin’s layers, the health of the inner layers will be taken care of. He recommended different treatments for different conditions. But, for each ingredient, he believed that the manufacturing process needed to be very precise and detailed or the end result would be an ineffective product. The fact that many times an anti aging skin treatment is rendered ineffective is because the process is wrong, even though the ingredients could be right.

One of the ingredients that Dr. Kligman recommended in his anti aging skin care guide was peptides. These are tiny fragments of amino acid proteins found in the skin. One is called hyaluronic acid and the other one is keratin.

Companies have tried to use keratin, but the peptide chains were rendered inactive by the manufacturer. Only “Functional Keratin”, which is created using a patented process, has active peptide chains and so encourages the production of collagen. It also reduces wrinkles and fine lines, from the “outside-in”.

Hyaluronic acid has the ability to increase firmness of the skin, but it is rapidly destroyed during an enzymatic process that occurs in the skin’s layers. The best anti aging skin care treatment contains an extract from Japanese kelp that blocks the enzymatic process, and consequently evens of hyaluronic acid normal rise.

Dr. Kligman, in his anti aging skin care guide, also recommended grape seed extract, because it renders inactive the effects of free radicals. Grape seed oil is also effective in moisturizing and creating an invisible layer that retains moisture. A skin that is moist has fewer propensities to crack or wrinkle.

The Dr. suggested also that anti aging skin care treatment should contain special compounds that change the light’s reflection, so that a person sees immediate results. This is basically for psychological gain. Many people become very depressed with their appearance.

Functional Keratin has been shown to change the reflection of light in this way, but since it also improves the skin’s health, it is a better choice than other compounds that are purely cosmetic. A complete anti aging skin care guide would contain a book-full of information, but that should be enough to get you started in the right direction.

Breast Lift: Should You Have One?

by Amy Nutt

Cosmetic surgery is rapidly becoming more popular for the average woman, particularly breast lifts. After a certain point in your life, you’ll find that your breasts begin to move southward and a few years later, most women are interested in doing something about that. Breast lifts aren’t for everyone, but they can be a good way to boost how you feel about yourself.

What Exactly Is a Breast Lift?

A breast lift is a relatively simple cosmetic procedure that removes the extra tissue and fat to lift breasts back into their natural position. However, it is a surgical procedure, so you will need to be healthy and without any underlying conditions in order to consider this procedure.

Who Has Breast Lifts

Women with larger breasts tend to have problems with drooping, particularly after the age of 30, but this isn’t an exclusive club. After having children and breastfeeding, most mothers experience some drastic changes in their breasts. Even fairly young women can experience this problem and while a good bra can certainly help give the impression of youthful perkiness, it’s not a permanent solution and doesn’t help when you are standing naked in front of the mirror.

That being said, it really does depend on your own self image. Some women are content with the changes in their bodies that come with age and the joy of bearing children. They accept that this is simply nature’s course. However, others feel that they would be happier with this small change to their outward appearance and are willing to do something about it.

Why You Might Consider a Breast Lift

If you are over the age of 30 and have noticed that your breasts are definitely starting to sag, it may be time to consider some help. Using a good supportive bra will aid in keeping the breast tissue from breaking down to some extent, but this solution won’t work forever and when the inevitable happens, you may find that you are willing to take more extreme measures to get that youthful look back.

For many women, their bodies are connected to their self esteem and sense of self worth. So, when things start to deteriorate, it can be a good time to consider looking into breast lifts. It can really help you feel better about yourself and improve your self esteem as you get older and find that your breasts, one of the most noticeable areas of the body, begin to sag.

Making the Decision

For some women, the decision to have a cosmetic surgery is a big one, while others will find that they decide quite easily. It is a good idea to research the benefits and possible risks before you make your decision and educate yourself on what to expect. Talking to other women who have had breast lifts can give you a good idea of what will happen before, during and after the procedure.

Anti aging skin care review

by Giselda Marcua

There is a useful source on the web for information and reviews for an anti aging skin care products. Also, with the same goals as the web source, there’s a new movement geared towards safer cosmetics. Certainly, the best anti aging skin care system will be included in that movement.

In the United States, the cosmetic companies are fully aware that they can be successful at practically doing anything they want. The Food and Drug Administration allows them to use any ingredients, except for a few off limits substances. They are only off limits because they endanger the health of factory workers.

No one seemed to be concerned about the effects of unsafe ingredients on the consumer’s health. But now, an online database for cosmetic and anti aging skin care review actually lists the ingredients and grades products according to safety.

It’s a free service called Skin Deep. They ask you to sign up for their newsletter and of course they are a non-profit organization, so they accept donations. But, you can freely search for an anti aging skin care system by name. Or you can search by category and products will be listed from safest, to most hazardous.

You’ll be astonished to find out how many products fall in the hazardous category. For example, did you know that your lipstick may contain lead, a toxic metal that causes brain damage, neurological problems and birth defects?

Thirty three different brands were tested and more than 60% contained lead. Companies that you may count on for safety, like Cover Girl, Christian Dior and L’Oreal tested positive. This is a very serious health concern that the cosmetic companies brush off and still assure us that their products are safe.

Some ingredients are not hazardous, they are just the wrong choice for an anti aging skin care system. For example, one anti aging skin care review that I read was for a “lip plumper” that contains paraffin. Paraffin and other mineral oil derivatives interfere with the skin rejuvenation process. That’s a fact I learned from reading a dermatologist’s viewpoint on safe and effective creams and lotions.

The customer that wrote the anti aging skin care review said that the product was ineffective, but even if it had worked, it would have been counterproductive. The long term effect would have been dryer, more damaged looking lips.

Let’s take a look at Avon’s anti aging skin care system, how safe is it? That should have to be pretty safe, right? By glancing at the ingredients in Avon’s Ultimate transforming cream, the first thing that caught my attention was titanium dioxide. This ingredient is a sunscreen that has recently been included in the list as a probable carcinogenic.

10 The anti aging skin care review at Skin Deep ranks the Avon anti aging skin care system as highly hazardous. It contains compounds that are known to cause developmental and reproductive toxicity. Other ingredients in it are neurotoxins, endocrine disruptors and irritants.

The product is “enhanced” so that it is easily absorbed into the skin’s layers. This creates additional problems, because it can enter the bloodstream more easily than other cosmetics. So, the risks are increased.

Strangely, I didn’t see anything in the ingredients that might be beneficial except vitamin A, and that’s not the most beneficial vitamin for the skin. There are effective products out there, but you probably will not find an “anti aging skin care review” that mentions them, because they are not heavily advertised. But, if you take the time to look for them, I know you’ll be pleased.
